Good King Lyr: Bonus: Art!
This book is one of my favorite things in the world, and I often get the itch to make art around my favorite things. Here’s some art from the book, from the cover illustration to my own thoughts and illustrations. I’ll add to this page as I make new art…because art!
With this cover, I wanted to evoke a sense of mystery and motion. I see this as Barenin, loosely during the first few chapters when she’s dancing around Anais to take off his robes. I had to crop her/their face here, unfortunately—Barenin’s genderfluid and presents with a mix of gender signals and I wanted to depict them as such, and there is an unfortunate lack of non-binary stock imagery models. Still, I really love how this turned out!
An ink illustration with Anais and Barenin, who’s presenting femme here, and human. This scene isn’t directly in the book, but more a scene of their relationship as a whole. I made this as a cover illustration for the webnovel site Tapas, but I just love it so much. Can you make fan art of your own book? This is fan art of my own book. <3
